"God, remind us how much we rely on one another to build caring communities." -Theodore Hiebert

Today is day two of our Presbyterian Women's Spring Yard Sale. If you've not been out I hope you'll get to stop by - it's a great experience. We benefit from a number of generous folks who share their stuff with us to provide the treasures for our Yard Sale. We benefit from many committed folks who do all that is necessary to get ready and then hold the Yard Sales. We benefit from a great community of folks who come out and shop and fellowship with us. Some of them are long-time friends and some are stopping in for the first time. It's an example of what the fruits of a caring community look like. Many folks coming together and creating something that is fun and productive in the moment and creates support both for our church and for a wide variety of mission projects which our Presbyterian Women carefully select. Somewhere along the way, as Betty Branson often reminds me, I said that the kingdom of God is like a Yard Sale. I still believe that's true - stop by and experience a taste of God's kingdom - and some biscuits and gravy if you get there early enough.

Last week was week one of a six week sermon series on the Apostles Creed. We began by exploring the basic idea of what a creed is and what it means to say the words "I believe…" together in community. This Sunday we continue with the message "I Believe…In God." What does that mean? Perhaps it seems obvious, but the truth is there is a lot going on in that short statement. Let's dig deep.

The Session has called a meeting of the congregation of Hebron for immediately following morning worship next Sunday, April 21 for the purpose of electing new elders. The class of 2026 that will be presented is Pat Baker and Rebecca Rink.
